Skate Studio Co.
Skate Studio Co.
Skate Studio Co. originated from a passion for figure skating and a desire to create a program where skaters could learn how to transcend traditional boundaries with accessible knowledge of the professional industry. This company was founded on the belief that figure skating is not just a sport; rather, it's an avenue for personal growth, artistic expression, and boundless opportunities. Skate Studio Co. was created to help open doors for young skaters to envision a future where their passion and training can lead to a diverse array of opportunities.

I was that little girl that always wanted to be an ice princess. From the time I started skating at three years old, through the years of competitive upbringing, I found my place in the artistry of the sport. When I was a teenager, I met an icon in the skating world, Doug Mattis. From the moment I met him, he made an impact on me. He nurtured me when I was lost in the chaos of competition, showed me the worth I had in my individuality, and planted the idea in my head that I could take my favorite part of the sport and make that a profession. When the time came for me to enter the industry, he didn't hesitate a second to tell me all the shows he knew I could achieve, the elements I needed for those shows, the lifestyle surrounding them, the pay, the poise, and so much more. He broke down exactly what to put into my resume when I didn't have much, how to highlight my strengths, what elements and skating styles to add into my show reel, show tricks to work on, and even helped me draft my very first email to casting directors.
Doug passed away a few years ago. His absence in this industry is ever present. I owe the start of my professional career to him with what he was willing to share with me, and all that he asked was to pay it forward.
I've now been skating professionally for over seven years with multiple companies around the globe. I've spent the majority of my career working on Royal Caribbean Cruises with Willy Bietak productions under Emmy-award winning choreographer, Sarah Kawahara completing a total of six contracts so far, two of which as Ice Cast Company Manager, and another three as Cast Show or Parade Wardrobe. In my most recent contract, I had the opportunity to choreograph and direct the Halloween Show end-to-end including lighting design, timecode, choreography and collaboration with live orchestra, singers, skaters, and dancers. I was recently part of the exclusive cast for the Big Time Rush On Ice Holiday Spectacular including "Skating With The Stars" with James Maslow. There, I had the privilege to work and skate alongside Adam Blake, and contribute as associate choreographer. I've spent time working in Mexico with Illusion on Ice for several contracts and skated in Spain at Portaventura World with ProEventi, also serving as Line Captain. I've spent time learning aerial silks and adagio pairs continuing to expand my skillset and explore alternate ways to market myself to the professional world. With a degree in Communications and experience in Public Relations, I can help skaters build a strong, authentic personal brand that highlights their skills and sets them apart in the industry through polished application materials, strategic social media presence, and effective professional networking.
With each contract, I've realized there's always an opportunity to learn more about the industry and more about myself. As time has gone on, I've been searching for ways to share the sport that I love and to pay it forward to the next generation of skaters, just like Doug did for me years ago. With that in mind, the intention of Skate Studio Co. is to build a community and program that bridges the gap between the competitive and recreational side and that of the professional show industry. With a talented network of professionals at Skate Studio Co., our goal is to provide real-time accessible information into the industry. I want Skate Studio Co. to become a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the artistry and performance of figure skating and are looking to make it a profession.
